What is your new patient procedure? All patients are first scheduled for a free discovery session. This will allow us to discuss your condition and how we can help. Afterward, patients will schedule a one hour exam, which may include treatment on the first visit. Following the exam, we will plan out your treatment plan together and find something that fits both your schedule and your condition.
-
What is a Discovery Session?A discovery session is an initial 30 minute consultation before your new patient exam. This session gives us the opportunity to meet and briefly discuss your condition, find out if you are a candidate for chiropractic care, and gives us the opportunity to refer you to the appropriate professional if needed.
-
Do you take my health insurance?Kinetic Chiropractic is out-of-network with all insurance carriers. This was done with the patient in mind. Being out-of-network allows us to provide patients with free consultations, an hour comprehensive exam, and hour follow up appointments; this allows Kinetic Chiropractic to treat the individual and your specific needs without restrictions from insurance carriers. If needed, we can provide a superbill, at your request, that can be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement.
-
How do I pay for my appointments? We require payment at time of service and accept cash, all major debit/ credit card carriers, HSA/ FSA cards, and checks.
-
Why shouldn't I just go to an In-Network Chiropractor? There are many great in-network chiropractors; however, the majority of insurance-based offices are plagued with short visits, long wait times, and your care is often managed by assistants and not the doctor themselves. Being out-of-network has allowed us to provide longer visits, virtually no wait times, and individualized one-one care with the doctor throughout your visit.
-
What should I wear to my appointment?Depending on your treatment, we may need to access the skin of the shoulders, knee, and back. To make this simple and easy, we ask patients to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (i.e. gym wear) for most treatments and tank-tops/ shorts for treatment of the upper back, shoulders, and knee regions.
-
Do I have to get adjusted?Of course not. While the adjustment does have its time and place, it is not a requirement to get treated. We have a variety of other techniques that we can use instead of the adjustment to help you overcome your injury.
-
What if I already see a Chiropractor? That's great! We still encourage you to come in for a free discovery session to see if we could better address your complaints. We have found that many chiropractors offer only a fraction of the services that we are certified to provide and we can often achieve results where others have not.
-
What if I am seeing a Physical Therapist? That's awesome! We love seeing our patients work with very skilled physical therapists. However, many patients get a list of generic exercises and never actually see the Physical Therapist. We believe in one-on-one care with certified/ licensed professionals and we can provide you with exercises that are tailored to your specific goals and needs.
-
Do I Need a Doctor's Referral? No, it is not required to get a referral to see a chiropractor in New York State.
-
Once I see a Chiropractor, do I have to keep coming?Kinetic Chiropractic works with you to create the best treatment plan for you. We never force any of our patients to come in and get treated after their injuries have calmed down. However, many patients do choose to come in routinely to maintain wellness and strengthen areas before they turn into injuries.
-
I am injured, do I have to stop lifting? It depends on your injury. Our goal is to keep you in the gym, on the field, or active in whatever your activity is. We do this through movement modifications that keep you active while allowing your injury to recover. Through an athlete needs-analysis and movement assessment we can determine what you can do and what we will need to reintegrate later.
-
Can I come see you even if I don't exercise?Of course. Our motto is that everyone is an athlete, we just train for different events. Whether your event is mowing the lawn, piggy-back rides with the kids, moving furniture, or sitting at the office, we want to help you do it without pain.
